TMJ and Massage Therapy

We at Chill were lucky enough to host Dr. Gerald Becker DDS this week for a talk on dentistry and massage therapy.
Specifically, how Massage and Cranial Sacral Therapy can help in the treament of TMJ. TMJ is an umbrella term covering acute or chronic inflammationof the temporomandibular joint, which connects the mandible (jaw bone) to the skull. The disorder and resultant dysfunction can result in significant pain and impairment. You might have TMJ if you have any of the following symptoms:
Biting or chewing difficulty or discomfort
Clicking, popping, or grating sound when opening or closing your mouth
Dull, aching pain in the face
Earache
Ringing in the Ears
Headache
Jaw pain or tenderness of the jaw, pain may migrate doen the neck and into the shoulder
Reduced ability to open or close your mouth.
When TMJ is caused by stress, massage can be very effective in relieving symptoms. When dental misalignment is the cause, massage can be used as an adjunct therapy to more complicated dental intervention. (Contact Dr. Becker for more info).
If you suffer from TMJ pain let us know; we offer massage therapy and cranial sacral therapy to help you.
Please contact us if you or someone you know suffers with TMJ symptoms.

Flu Season is in Full Swing

Flu Season is in full swing. A client of mine recently sent me the following advice in an email. Its probably the best advice to come out of spam ever :). We at Chill would add the following plea if you are sick, Please - stay home, don't soldier through and go to work or to the grocery store - thus sharing your infection with others- stay home. You can order groceries online sometimes with free delivery (try Amazon fresh). And please those fever induced aches are not helped by Massage Therapy in fact massage moves the lymph in your body so if you are fighting something off, massage can actually make things worse by overloading an already pushed to the brink immune system. That said, Massage while you are healthy is a great way to stay healthy. Make it part of your stay healthy routine this Winter, book a massage every two weeks and I think you will quickly see the benefits in the form of reduced stress, better sleep, fewer aches and pains, better moods, and a better functioning immune system. We also have a myriad of aromatherapy supplies to support your well being. So while you are still in the pink of health come on in and get started on your healthiest winter yet.

Now the advice on how to stay Flu free this Fall/Winter

1. Frequent hand-washing with soap and warm/hot water.

2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face, especially your eyes, nose and mouth.

3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). *H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method..

4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water . *Not everybody may be good at Jala Neti or Sutra Neti (very good Yoga asanas to clean nasal cavities), but *blowing the nose fully once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.* Neti pots and sinus rinse kits are available at the drug store and relatively inexpensive….under $15.

5. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (Amla and other citrus fruits). *If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.

6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, warm water with ginger/lemon, etc) as you can. *Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

7. (this one is mine) If you do become ill try a tea of freshly grated ginger, juice of a lemon, cayenne pepper and honey.

Stay warm, eat well, exercise and get massage therapy. We look forward to seeing you!

Make Chill Your Healthy Habit

How many of your indulgences are good for you, adn with out side effects? I mean really good for you, not red wine and chocolate good for you. I think it's clear that the chocolate with out the sugar would be more healthful and the wine without the ethanol, but really good for you? Good for your circulation, good for your skin, good for your strength, stamina and longevity? Not one, ok well maybe one, but we aren't going there.

And how many of your healthful pursuits feel really really good, Step or Spin class? Running? yeah you see where I'm headed? Its hard to pull yourself out of bed on a damp Seattle fall day and hit the gym or the pavement to get in those calorie burning miles. Perhaps equally hard for some to stop at that heart healthy 4 ounces of red wine.

But there is one indulgence that is so good for you and one healthy habit that is so incredibly indulgent and so easy to partake in, that you really should not be passing it up.

I am speaking of course, about Massage therapy. You know you love it. That time away from everything, cel phone off not a care in the world and at that point you are still at the front desk! Getting a massage has more health benefits than I have time to list, (google it if you don't believe me or go to www.AMTAmassage.org) and it feels so reassuring, so relaxing, so soul satisfying.

If you haven't made massage a regular part of your life what on earth are you waiting for? Perhaps an inticement, so here it is: mention the Chill blog when you book your appointment by phone or through our online appointment book and I'll give you $5 dollars off your next 5 appointments! I'm guessing by then the benefits will be more than clear.

Indulge in your Good Health, come Chill. http://www.chillwestseattle.com/

(sessions must be of 30 min. or more and you must pre-book the next four after your first session to receive the discount).

Aloha Alix McLaughlin LMP

Alix Mclaughlin L.M.P. returned to Seattle to practice massage therapy after studying in the sweet oasis of Maui Hawaii. Fortunate for us because Alix is proving that a little bit of the Island vibe is just what we Seattlites need, after a long miserable winter.
Alix adds the flow of Lomi Lomi to her deep Swedish Massages and is also adept at abdominal massage. She's available to work with pregnant woman throughout their full terms, and offers sports, foot reflexology, and chair massage as well.
Alix is already generating enthusiastic reviews and perhaps a bit of a fan club. As this review left today on merchant circle can attest:

"Wow! What can I say other than I am truly blessed. I walked into Chill half expecting to be turned away for not having an appointment, but that was not the case. I was treated with kindness and patience to the point that I left in an absolute daze. My walk to the ferry was more like a ride on a puffy cloud, floating through a plane of existence that I have only briefly encountered in the past. I have many "issues" that needed focus and within the first 10 minutes I knew that I would be selling myself short by getting only an hour massage. Alix was kind, patient, thorough and genuinely responsive to every need that I had. I haven't felt that comfortable getting a massage in my life. As I was leaving the shop, I was having trouble focusing on where I was going & what I was doing. What a treat! I did not want to leave. If there is someone that you know that needs a massage, I highly recommend treating them to not a taste, but a full meal of heaven. Thank You, Bless You, See You." (posted by Jonathon L. Vashon Is.)

He followed up with this message to us, (seriously, we did not pay him and he is not related!)

Hello Chill- I want to thank Alix for her magic and compassion. I truly felt like I was welcomed into a special place... timeless and stress-free. I will be back again and again. Bless You! Jonathan

Alix is available by appointment Saturday-Tuesday and looks forward to bringing your body and soul a little bit of timeless and stress-free, Aloha.

Big Hearted Artist Hangs at Little Healing Studio

Chill is proud to welcome Allie Jones, Painter to show through June. A talented and generous artist who gives back big, she donated 40% of the proceeds from her first (very successful)gallery show to Northwest Hope and Healing, (a local charity that provides support for woman surviving Cancer). She now routinely gives anywhere from 10 - 15%.

Her work is inspiring and fun, thoughtful and quirky, soulful and humorous.

We were lucky enough to get work from 3 different collections and we look forward to showing it off all Spring. So stop by on your way back from Cafe Laddro and take a look, or enjoy it for longer when you come in to Chill for that much needed massage.

New Team Member at Chill

Chill Massage Therapy in West Seattle, Is pleased to welcome Heather Glen LMP as our newest team member. Heather has over 9 years of experience as an Licensed Massage Therapist. She is a strong therapist who enjoys providing Deep Tissue and deep Swedish Massage as well as more esoteric forms of body work. Her well rounded educational background means she can meet every client where they are, and assist them, to where they want to be. Heather offers a great overall massage experience and pregnancy massage for expectant mothers. She can also provide, a unique aromatherapy experience using the Raindrop Aromatherapy method, (you'll feel basted like thanksgiving stuffing when she finishes working these herbaceous blends into you feet and spine!), or deep subtle work in the form of Cranial Sacral. Read on to find out more about Heather Glen's offerings or simply click the title above to Book an Appointment Online Now!

Raindrop Aromatherapy - This technique involves dropping essential oils onto the spine and working them in using light finger strokes. Raindrop Therapy stimulates energy impulses along the nervous system and throughout the whole body.

Cranial Sacral Therapy -
Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) is a light touch, hands on therapy that focuses on bringing the Cranial Sacral System (CSS)into balance. It uses the wave like rhythm created by the filling and emptying movement of cranial fluid to help the practitioner feel and free holding patterns. This technique can provide profound relief for clients whose problems might not easily release with more direct muscle focused massage techniques. It is also simply one of the most relaxing body work modalities out there. Give it a try you'll be glad you did.

Qualifications:

Graduated from Brenneke School of Massage 2000
Completed the Labor Support Course at the Seattle Midwifery School
Certified for Pregnancy Massage and Labor Support by Kate Jordan's course "Bodywork for the Childbearing Year"®
Member of and insured by the American Massage Therapy Association
Certified by both State and National Certification Boards for Massage Therapy and Bodywork

Update: Yesterday I was lucky enough to find time in the schedule to get in for a massage with Heather Glen our new LMP (Licensed Massage Practitioner). I have to say, don't you all just love those heating pads we use. I'm always a little surprised by just how hot they get even through the blankets. (So please do let us know if it ever gets too hot - it's OK to pipe up), but anyway I digress. What I wanted to talk about was cranial sacral therapy. Generally when I have CS it has been still point activation - where the practitioner holds points at the base of the skull until you feel like you are floating. But what Heather did was pretty unique. She was finishing up working on my left leg when I mentioned I had sprained it back at the end of January and it was still a bit enlarged. She asked if she could try some CS on it. Of course, always one to try anything that might help, I said sure. And so she began gently palpating and holding my ankle. It didn't take long before I could feel subtle shifting in the layers of tissue and her hands got really hot (not a prerequisite for CS but fun to notice), It's a subtle sensation but very enjoyable if you can just breath and go with it. There is pain but not sharp pain, again if you just breath..... At any rate it was a great session and left me ready for hill repeats at track practice last night with no problems from my ankle. Thanks Heather, If you would like to book an appointment with our new massage practitioner Heather Glen just click on the link above to Book online. Or give us a call, she is available Tuesdays and Fridays 2-7 And every other Sunday 9am - 1pm 206-724-9555

Update Here's what they've been saying about Heather Glen LMP since March:

"Heather was wonderful...I can also say hands down that Heather gives the best foot massage that I have ever had. I will recommend my nurse friends to her when they start whining about their sore feet. Sincerely One Satisfied Customer."
Shelley

"Heather was absolutely fantastic. That was my first time having Cranial Sacral therapy. I wasn't sure I would like it or feel benefit from it but was pleasantly surprised. (I)Don't think I have ever remained that stil for an hour in my entire life! It was awesome overall..the whole experience was great. I will be back. Thanks!"
Carol

"I had a wonderful massage with Heather. I was super impressed with how strong she was....it was a great experience and I hope to get a massage there in the future."

Speed up Recovery from The Common Cold

I learned this treatment as well as other minor forms of torture from a Naturpath many years ago, they are a bit startling due to the use of ice (or ice cold cloth) but they are proven effective, and beat being laid up and out for 10 days or more.

This one I'm paraphrasing from Dr. Stadtmauer's websight (Click on the title above to read the original).

Paraphrasing starts now

One of the major underlying principles of Naturopathic medicine (and the Chill Philosophy), is that people take part in their own healing. At-home hydrotherapy treatments are one of the best ways for people to help themselves and are widely under-appreciated.

Hydrotherapy is the practice of using hot wet and cold wet applications in various combinations and forms to stimulate the natural healing processes of the body. ....What follows is my favorite hydrotherapy treatment that I recommend to patients very frequently. Those who do them are constantly amazed at how such a simple (and inexpensive!) procedure can produce such amazing results. The first is called “Warming Socks”, and it illustrates the concepts of hydrotherapy very well.

The warming socks treatment is best if repeated for three nights in a row.
Indications:
Sore throat or any inflammation or infection of the throat, neck pain, ear infections, headaches, migraines, nasal congestion, upper respiratory infections, coughs, bronchitis, and sinus infections.
Supplies:
1 pair thin white cotton socks
1 pair thick wool socks
Towel
Warm bath or warm foot bath
Directions:
• Take a pair of cotton socks and soak them completely with ice cold water. Be sure to wring the socks out thoroughly so they do not drip.
• Warm your feet first. This is very important as the treatment will not be as effective and could be harmful if your feet are not warmed first. Warming can be accomplished by soaking your feet in very warm water for at least 5-10 minutes or taking a warm bath for 5~10 minutes.
• Dry off feet and body with a dry towel.
• Place cold damp socks on feet. Cover with thick dry wool socks. Go directly to bed. Avoid getting chilled.
• Keep the socks on overnight. You will find that the damp cotton socks will be dry in the morning.

Effects of the Wet Sock Treatment:
The body perceives the heat differential between the cool socks and the hot feet as an irritant. It responds by pulling the congested fluids from the upper respiratory passages, down to the feet to warm up the socks. Over the course of a couple of hours, the socks will dry out, and the nose and sinuses will decongest.

This movement of fluid also has the effect of stimulating the immune system, to better fight infection. It works very well with sick children to get them to sleep quickly, and keeps them more comfortable throughout the night. The same holds true for adults.

Good luck this cold/flu season and if you just can't bear to do this to yourself call me and I can do the alternative ice/hot chest back compress for similar indications. Its fun - really! (30 min. $40) 206-724-9555.

What you are saying about us - Thanks Lara!!

Just found this sweet post from long time client Lara G.

LaraGMember

We are so lucky to have two of the best massage therapists in the world, right here in West Seattle at Chill.
Although the store is very small, the quality of massage is absolutely the best. A few specific things I like:-The massage style is strong with impact, but still smooth and relaxing.-They always find that "one spot" (that always seems to move around) where I hold all my tension.-They remember my particular style likes and dislikes, but never fail to check in to see what specific needs I have each particular week.-Their personalities are simply lovely.-It smells good, the massage tables are comfy, and the music is great.-The prices are reasonable.-I can book my appointments online.
For those who are interested in reading more, here is my story of how I came to become a dedicated client to Chill. I've obviously become a huge fan.
I try to get a massage whenever I travel and have experienced different therapists and different styles in places from Italy to Hawaii to Mexico to Spain.
Despite the frequency and variety I've experienced, I determined many years ago that my favorite massage therapist was local - Nicole Gainey, who had her own offive over on Capitol Hill.
However, in 2004, I was quite upset when Nicole decided to close up her business and move to China. She was so fantastic that it took me over a year to find another therapist who was even close to having her talent.
That was when I met Diana Elizabeth. I can't say which is better because their styles are so different, but suffice it to say I had met Nicole's match and was thrilled to finally find myself a "New Nicole."
Fast forward through two years of amazing massages... You can imagine my excitement when I learned that 1. Nicole was back in town, 2. opened up a new store in WEST SEATTLE, and 3. Diana was leaving her spa to work with Nicole!!!
I'm not sure what cosmic force brought these two together, but it doesn't matter. I am sooooo happy that they work together at Chill and are just a few blocks from my house.
Needless to say, I highly recommend Chill Massage Therapy to everybody who is stressed out, needing some time to relax and rejuvenate, in pain, or just happens to be a massage junkie like me! I'm constantly giving friends gift certificate's to Chill just so I can share my happy little West Seattle secret. :-)

You can check out this and other raves at the highly informative West Seattle Blog

Thanks again Lara!!

The much awaited rebuild on Jan's Beauty Salon is finally under way. Contractors started putting up the interior wall last monday. They'll be working mondays until its done as that is Jan's (and most hair salons) day off.

Chill will remain open and will do or best to protect our clients from the noise next store. But if you can make it another day, then of course please do.

Back from the Dog House

It's Saturday night. It's been a long week of classes all day and business at night, my head is a buzz with memories of furry faces, wagging tails and canine specific muscle issues. I wish I could show you pictures of the dogs all splayed out and chill, trust me they didn't come in that way; or the little beagle who, after a chiropractic adjustment and some acupuncture, looked so zenned out I wasn't sure she was still breathing. It was awesome.

If you have a dog or know someone whose dog is rehabilitating from surgery or an injury let me know. I am happy to talk to you about how massage can benefit your animal. If you'd like to get someone a gift certificate for their dog (coming soon cats!) they are available on our website (click the title above). Online appointments aren't yet available but they will be soon.

Massage Benefit for Jan's

Help Jan rebuild. As many of you know, Chill's neighbor Jan's Beauty Salon was turned temporarily into a drive through by a freaky accident with a truck a couple of weeks ago.

Though the building was boarded up in no time, and Jan was back to work in a day, she is still working with smashed up furniture and depleted and mangled product. The exterior walls will hopefully be taken care of by Insurance, but the interior is going to fall on Jan's shoulder's.

Please help me ease the burden on those shoulders and yours this Sunday. We'll be doing chair massage from 10 - 2. You can sign up on line or just stop by the shop. Donations of $10 and up greatly appreciated, with 100% going to Jan.

You can also purchase special "Crash Chill" Gift Certificates online. $25 from each sale will got to help Jan rebuild. Come in, shop now, shop often, and together we can breathe a little life back into our little corner of California Ave SW.

Because Everyone deserves a Happy Ending!

She planned, worried, waited and wondered if it would ever get here and last Sunday at 5pm under beautiful blue Seattle skies, it did and our Diana Elizabeth got Married! She's honeymooning now with her very proud husband Jeff, but she will be back on June 6th. In the meantime we wish them well and gently remind them to wear their sunscreen!

Jan's will rise from the rubble

Less than 12 hours after the crash, with the help of the driver and his family, the landlords (their very handy contractor), friends and neighbors, Jan's is boarded up, cleaned up and open for business! I had my hair cut and brows waxed this morning as scheduled, pretty amazing.

We'll expect some extensive construction in the near future but for now it's business as usual on our little corner of West Seattle.

Unforseen Circumstances

This morning at 9:00 am, a man lost control of his truck and ran it through the side of our building. Luckily no one was hurt. Unfortunately Jan's Beauty Salon is somewhat demolished. We ask for your patience and compassion while she gets things cleaned up and rebuilt. There may be some less than relaxing noise to contend with in the near future. We haven't decided if this means we will be closed or not, but we want you to have the option of rescheduling as we understand it is sometimes hard to chill, against the backdrop of jack hammers.

Chill,

Nicole Diana & Karina

Sometimes You Just Need A Really Good Meatball Sub.

The Body and Mind need exercise. The Soul craves connection and reflection. Sometimes you need someone to just get the knots out! And then well sometimes you just need a really, really good sandwich; and that is where Ronnie Santone comes in. He just opened Hey Paisan right down the road in Burien. Seven miles from Chill on 152nd.

Hey Paison! is out of this world -yum, go hungry and add the phenomenal cheesecake, you will not be dissappointed. The website is up, http://www.heypaison.com/ , the doors are open, and if you go, ummm, bring me a little something back, will ya?

Why We Use Aromatherapy

Why do we use Aromatherapy at Chill? Because it smells good, creates space distinct from unnatural work environments, hectic home environments or traffic? Well sure, and I also use it to cover up the fact that my vacuum smells not so vaguely of dog, but the deeper reason lies well err deeper in the brain. Here's an excep from, neuroscientist, Daniel G. Amen, M.D's book, "Change your Brain, Change your Life." He talks about the biochemistry of essential oils specifically Lavender. So the next time you come into chill, start at the door with a deep breath through the nose, aaaaah you are half way there already. Here's the proof:

"Your deep limbic system is the part of your brain that directly processes your sense of smell. That is why perfumes and wonderful-smelling soaps are attractive and unpleasant body odors are repellent. In the British journal The Lancet, a study was reported on the benefits of aromatherapy using the oil from lavender flowers. When used properly, lavender oil aroma helped people to feel less stressed and less depressed. It also enhanced sleep. In aromatherapy, special fragrances are used in a steam machine, in the bath, on the pillow, and in potpourris. These fragrances can have an appreciable effect on people's moods. However, there is a difference between ingesting the substance and smelling it. When you ingest something, it goes to the stomach and is processed by the digestive system. (Moreover, many essential oils, including lavender, are dangerous if ingested.) A smell, however, activates the olfactory nerves, which go directly to the deep limbic system...Many people have noticed that certain smells sometimes bring up very strong, clear memories, as if the whole feeling and sense of the original event were coming back to them. There is a good reason for that: smell and memory are processed in the same area of the brain. Because smells activate neurocircuits in the deep limbic system, they bring about a more complete recall of events, which gives one access to details of the past with great clarity. Smells have an effect on moods. The right smells likely cool the deep limbic system. Pleasing fragrances are like an anti-inflammatory. By surrounding yourself with flowers, sweet fragrances, and other pleasant smells, you affect the working of your brain in a powerful and positive way.

Flu closes chill

Good people of West Seattle please excuse my fever adled ramblings, i'll make this brief, but I thought I would take a moment to share some information about the flu since I have it and trust me you do not want this one.

First and most relevant for this blog, do not get a massage if you feel like you might be "coming down with something" At this point in an illness your lymph system is at its most vunerable, working hard to ward off illness. Massage can actually overwhelm the lymphatic system causing you to get sick even if you wouldn't have or to be sick sooner and / or for a longer period of time.
And certainly do not get a massage if you are sick.

If you are sick, stay home, especially through your contagious phase, get rest and drink plenty of liquids.

Here is some info from WebMd on the flu:

How soon will I get sick if I am exposed to the flu?
The time from when a person is exposed to flu virus to when symptoms begin is about one to four days, with an average of about two days.
How long is a person with flu virus contagious?
The period when an infected person is contagious depends on the age and health of the person. Studies show that most healthy adults may be able to infect others from 1 day prior to becoming sick and for 5 days after they first develop symptoms. Some young children and people with weakened immune systems may be contagious for longer than a week.

Snort. Sniffle. Sneeze. No Antibiotics Please!

Are you aware that colds, flu, and most sore throats and bronchitis are caused by viruses? Did you know that antibiotics do not help fight viruses? It's true. Plus, taking antibiotics when you have a virus may do more harm than good. Taking antibiotics when they are not needed increases your risk of getting an infection later that resists antibiotic treatment.
If You Have a Cold or Flu, Antibiotics Won't Work For You!
Antibiotics kill bacteria, not viruses such as:
Colds or flu;
Most coughs and bronchitis;
Sore throats not caused by strep; or
Runny noses.
Taking antibiotics for viral infections, such as a cold, cough, the flu, or most bronchitis, will not:
Cure the infections;
Keep other individuals from catching the illness; or
Help you feel better.

To all of you who I have to reschedule with I apologize for the inconvenience and I will be calling you when I am past my contagious phase which should be wed. or thursday. Thank you for you patience.

cheers from chill

Rolfing

Yesterday I recieved the last of my ten Rolfing sessions. Wow I am going to miss it. Intense deep work that is at times relaxing and at times feels like your eyes may just pop out of your head from the pain. Pleasant or not, I found every session lead to greater freedom of movement and body awareness and overall less pain and stiffness. SO if you are looking for some real results from your bodywork sessions I highly recommend rolfing. email me for my rolfer's contact info or check out the link above for more information.

feeling good,

Nice Things People said about us over the Holidays!

"I have both certificates now and they look great. I am really impressed by how you have handled this whole situation. Especially since I am the one that caused it. I will definitely recommend you to everyone I know. Thank you for the time and care you are taking with this matter. It is obvious that you care about your clients and it really shows.

Thank you so much.

Also if you have a comment part on your website where you put things people have said about you, you are more than welcome to add what I said above. I am really impressed.

Thanks again"

david boylan (five stars) *****very convienent and very very satisfing i love you guys with all my heart.

And these two just bought Gift Certificates! Let's hope the people who received them are as pleased. You think.

Happy New Years Eve

The end of 2007 already! As we head into 2008, we pause to mark the 6 month anniversary of chill massage therapy in west seattle. It's been a fantastic 6 months. Sure some things got off to a bumpy start, (like this website!), but that just keeps things interesting.

2008 promises to be interesting as well. We've gained one new Massage Therapist with another one on the way and have been able to, in the process, shave about 25% off our prices! What's that you ask? Yes De-flation! And its not just for election year. We've dropped our prices and if things go well (cross your fingers for benevolent landlords and the like), they will stay dropped.

By february our staff will include a qualified pregnancy massage therapist. So all you Mom's to be that have been calling - call back! :)!

I just received five more photographs from featured artist Linda Li, so stop by and see the growing collection. One particularly great picture ( a one-legged monk ), lost its glass in the trip, (from China), I'll have to see about repairs, or slash the price, I'll talk to the artist.

Speaking of artists - if you are one or know one - please contact me if you would like to hang in our studio.

You may recall we opened chill with art by Patty Taagen. I'm now the proud owner of a piece of her work. If I can figure out where to put it, I'll hang it at chill. You won't be able to miss it - It's huge, but then so is my Armstrong.

Alright, good bye for now. Enjoy your New Year's eve - chill with style - and I'll see you in the New Year.

yours,
Nicole
